Business Today-Honda Pro-Am of Champions to be held at Golden Greens

NEW DELHI, FEBRUARY 27: The 12th 'Business Today−HONDA Pro-Am of Champions ' the only stand-alone PRO-AM golfing event enters its final round at the Golden Greens Golf and Country Club in Gurgaon on March 02 and 03, 2007.

The two-day event will culminate in a grand finale on Saturday, March 03 that will see India's best golfing CEOs come together with the top tour professionals to participate in the finals. The prestigious tournament is celebrating its 12th anniversary this year.

The multi-event tournament has already had winners from regional rounds held in Mumbai, Bangalore & Kolkata, converging to play in Gurgaon now.

The field for the event includes 20 top professionals who will team up with top CEO's, industrialists and bureaucrats over two days of exciting golf. Among the leading golfers slated to participate are second −rank holder on the PGTI money list Ashok Kumar, two-time Indian Open champion Ali Sher, Mukesh Kumar, Digvijay Singh, Harmeet Kahlon, Amritinder Singh, AS Lehal, Arjun Singh, Gurbaaz Mann, Vikrant Chopra, Amardip Sinh Malik, Karanjit Singh Sandhu, U.S. Mundy, Harinder Gupta, Rahul Ganapathy, Vijay Kumar, Vivek Bhandari, Naman Dawar, C Muniyappa and Gaganjeet Bhullar.

The tournament will be played on stableford format where 75% of the original handicap of the amateur will be taken into account. The tournament will witness participation from bureaucrats and top corporate heads like Mr. Bharat Hari Singhania, Vice Chairman & MD, JK Corporation Ltd.; Mr Hardeep Singh, Chairman & Managing Director, Cargill India Pvt. The championship is promoted by Business Today, part of The India Today Group and Honda Siel Cars India Limited. Business Today Pro−Am of Champions, which began in 1995, has established itself as the premier Pro−Am Championship in the country. The exalted status has helped draw a veritable who's who of Indian professional and corporate golf for the two-day event in Delhi.

There is a minimum guarantee of Rs 25,000 for every pro. The pro in the winning team will win Rs. 60,000 while the one in the runner−up team will be richer by Rs. 40,000. The best individual pro score over 36 holes will win Rs. 1 lakh.

Amongst the Amateurs, the Winning and Runners Up Teams play for a prize of a 5 day 4 night Free Holiday for 2 at the Le Telfair Golf & Spa Resort, Mauritius.

Golden Greens Golf & Country Club, the host venue for the event, will witness two−days of golf extravaganza. The rugged beauty of the foothills forms an awesome backdrop to the emerald depths of the flawless greens.
